Beyond Your Eyes

Faith is a small word with a heavy definition and implication. By definition, faith means to have complete trust or confidence in someone or something. Now how does faith apply to our life and walk as Christians?

I don’t know about you guys, but I am usually worried about my future. The decisions I make are dictated by how I think they might affect me later on in life. For example, when it was time to make my college decision, I decided to stay home because I didn’t want to have an insurmountable amount of college debt that could prevent me from living the life I want to live once I graduate. Now, most people would say I made a wise decision, but I wonder what would’ve happened if I put more faith in God. Faith in the fact that he would see me through every situation.

Philippians 4:6 (AMP) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made to God.

Scripture tells us that God only wants the best for us. The Bible is literally an outline of how we should live our lives, but instead of having faith in him, we try to do our own thing, take shortcuts here and there, invest time and energy in things that we should leave alone, and the list goes on.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Trusting God is so important! If we begin to walk like God is with us, there is no telling how far we will go and how much time we would save. Saying that we have faith is so much easier than proving that we do through our actions. Faith requires leaps of courage and the belief that even though we can’t see it right now, everything will work out in the end.

Faith and Christianity go hand in hand. You can’t have one without the other. I challenge you all to question how much faith you have in God. Do you trust that he will deliver you from hard times? That he is always with you? Personally, I need to work on my faith and hope some of you are encouraged to do the same. We don’t want to block our blessings by not having faith in God.

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) For I know the plans and thoughts I have for you says the Lord, plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope.
